Accentuate the Positive, Elimenate the Negative
Johnny Mercer wrote a song that was popular years ago when I
was growing up. You may recognize
it. The lyrics are below.
Ac-Cent-Tchu-Ate The Positive
Gather 'round me, everybody
Gather 'round me while I'm preachin'
Feel a sermon comin' on me
The topic will be sin and that's what I'm ag'in'
If you wanna hear my story
Then settle back and just sit tight
While I start reviewin'
The attitude of doin' right
You've got to accentuate the positive
Eliminate the negative
And latch on to the affirmative
Don't mess with Mister In-Between
You've got to spread joy up to the maximum
Bring gloom down to the minimum
Have faith or pandemonium's
Liable to walk upon the scene
To illustrate my last remark
Jonah in the whale, Noah in the ark
What did they do just when everything looked so dark?
(Man, they said "We'd better accentuate the
positive")
("Eliminate the negative")
("And latch on to the affirmative")
Don't mess with Mister In-Between (No!)
Don't mess with Mister In-Between
(Ya got to spread joy up to the maximum)
(Bring gloom down to the minimum)
(Have faith or pandemonium's)
(Liable to walk upon the scene)
You got to ac (yes, yes) -cent-tchu-ate the positive
Eliminate (yes, yes) the negative
And latch (yes, yes) on to the affirmative
Don't mess with Mister In-Between
No, don't mess with Mister In-Between
pos·i·tive/ˈpäzətiv/
Adjective:
Consisting in or characterized by the presence or possession
of features or qualities rather than their absence.
Noun:
A good, affirmative, or constructive quality or attribute:
"translate your weakness into positives".
Synonyms:
certain - sure - absolute - affirmative
As a network marketer, you want to be certain that you have
chosen the correct profession, the correct product or service and the correct
for your style of marketing. You know
whether ‘cold calling’ or “relationship driven marketing’ suites your
personality best. The ability to put
yourself in the place of the prospect helps you make a decision.
The follow is what you never want to experience with regard
to your marketing efforts. Though there
will be some people who will say “Not now”, “Maybe later” or “I am not
interested at all”. You do not want those answers to be caused by anything you
did or said.

the presence of distinguishing features.

in-be·tween
[in-bi-tween]
noun
1.
a person
or thing that is between two extremes, two contrasting conditions, etc.: yeses,
noes, and in-betweens; a tournament for professional, amateur, and in-between.
2.
a person
who handles the intermediary steps, as in a manufacturing or sales process.
adjective
3.
being
between one thing, condition, etc., and another: a coat for in-between weather.
If you are in a state of indecisiveness, you are in between
two extremes. Determining what it is you
want and setting goals can help you zero in on a course of action so that you
are not pulled off course by trying to follow two schools of thought. You know where that can lead.
pan·de·mo·ni·um [pan-duh-moh-nee-uh m]
noun
1.
wild
uproar or unrestrained disorder; tumult or chaos.
2.
a place
or scene of riotous uproar or utter chaos.
3.
( often
initial capital letter ) the abode of
all the demons.
4.
hell.
You want to avoid disorder at all costs. Whatever it take for you to have order in
your life, do. Isn’t it enough to have
to retrain your own thoughts to be optimistic, without having two opposing
advisors? Fire one or the other. Get rid of the pulling that could split you
in two.
That is a step toward the detoxification of your thinking,
the cleansing and maintenance of your thinking, and in turn the components of
being. It's an accepted fact that the way a person thinks has a strong effect
on the physical structure and functioning of the body.
There is a strong correlation between thinking and the state
of health.
When we were
children, we used to say, "Sticks and stones can break my bones, but names
can never harm me." There's a lot of psychiatric truth in that.
Keeping your mind on uplifting and positive things also
dissipates hate and fear. A wise man said hate and fear breed a poison in the
blood which if continued affects the eyes, the ears, the nose and the organs of
digestion. Therefore, it's wise not to hear, nor remember what other people say
about you or to you.
Mr. Peterson says, "We do not see people and things as
we see them. What we see is our own conception of them." That means that
if beauty is in the eye of the beholder, ugly is in the eye of the beholder,
hate is in the eye of the beholder.
We have a perfect right to disagree and to exert our
energies to establish what we think is correct and to eliminate what we think is
incorrect, but the negative emotions and feelings that we have about those with
whom we disagree is poisoning. Remember what Pythagoras said: "Hate and
fear breed a poison in the blood which if continued affects the eyes, the ears,
the nose and the organs of digestion."
